Getting a Quote & Pricing
How much does a new driveway cost?
Every driveway is different, the price depends on the size, the surface type you choose, and the amount of groundwork needed. As a rough guide, pattern imprinted concrete typically starts from around £80–£100 per m², resin bound from £70–£90 per m², and exposed aggregate from £75–£95 per m². The best way to get an accurate figure is to request a free no-obligation quote and we’ll come out to measure up and talk you through your options.
Is the quote really free and no obligation?
Absolutely. We’ll visit, take measurements, discuss what you’re looking for, and give you a written quote at no charge. There’s no pressure to proceed, we want you to feel completely comfortable before making any decision.
Do your prices include everything — labour, materials, and groundwork?
Yes. Our quotes are fully inclusive. We’ll let you know upfront if any additional work is required (such as drainage alterations or removing an existing surface) so there are no surprises.
Planning Permission
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
For most standard driveways, no. Pattern imprinted concrete and exposed aggregate are solid surfaces, so if your front garden drains to a lawn or border rather than the road, no permission is usually needed. Resin bound surfaces are fully permeable (water drains straight through), so they are almost always exempt from planning permission. If you’re unsure about your specific situation, we’ll advise you when we come out for your quote.
What is a permeable surface and why does it matter?
A permeable surface allows rainwater to drain through it into the ground below, rather than running off into the street. This is important for planning regulations and helps reduce the risk of local flooding. Resin bound is a fully permeable option, which is one of the reasons it has become so popular in recent years.
The Installation Process
How long will the work take?
Most residential driveways take between 2 and 5 days depending on size and complexity. A standard patio is usually 1 to 2 days. We’ll give you a clear timeline before we start so you can plan around it.
How disruptive is the process?
We won’t pretend it’s completely disruption-free, there will be machinery, materials, and some noise involved. However, our team works efficiently and tidies up thoroughly at the end of every working day. We’ll always keep you informed about what’s happening and when.
Will I be able to use my driveway during the work?
You won’t be able to drive on or walk across the surface while it’s being laid and during the initial curing period. We’ll make sure you know exactly when access will be restricted so you can make arrangements in advance.
How long before I can use my new driveway?
For pattern imprinted concrete, we recommend leaving it for at least 24–48 hours before walking on it, and around 7 days before driving on it. Resin bound and exposed aggregate surfaces cure faster and are typically ready within 24 hours. We’ll confirm the exact timings for your specific installation.
Durability & Maintenance
How long will my driveway last?
Pattern imprinted concrete, resin bound, and exposed aggregate are all extremely durable surfaces designed to last 20–25 years or more with proper care. Our workmanship is fully guaranteed, and the materials we use are chosen for their long-term performance.
Will my driveway crack?
Pattern imprinted concrete is laid as a single monolithic slab with fibre reinforcement, which makes it far more resistant to cracking than block paving or traditional concrete. No surface is completely immune to ground movement, but we design and install our driveways to minimise this risk. Any issues covered by our workmanship guarantee will be addressed promptly.
How do I maintain my new driveway?
Very little maintenance is needed, which is one of the main reasons our customers choose these surfaces. An occasional rinse with a hose or a pressure wash once or twice a year is usually all that’s required. Pattern imprinted concrete benefits from a re-seal every 3–5 years to keep the colour looking its best and protect the surface.
Is it really weed-free?
Yes. Unlike block paving or gravel, pattern imprinted concrete and resin bound surfaces have no joints for weeds to take root in. They remain weed-free throughout their life with no treatment needed.
